Retired Grand Slam tennis player Vijay Amritraj saw Dan emcee and perform at the Sony awards at Cipriani in New York. He requested that Dan emcee and perform at his annual charity gala in Los Angeles.
At the first event in December of 2009, Dan had the honor of serving as emcee, performing and introducing Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette. After the event, Ms. Morissette told Dan that she very much enjoyed his impression of George Bush.
In October of 2010, Dan performed at the Vijay Amritraj charity gala again, and this time it was held at the Calabasas Tennis Center. Dan had the privilege of introducing the Beach Boys, and was complimented on stage by singer, Mike Love, and also by tennis great Jimmy Connors. The event was also attended by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
